Falling in Love With Four Wedding Must-Haves

Fall is in the air and the height of wedding season is just around the corner. This is often one of the best times to have an outdoor ceremony because minimal decorations are needed with nature’s vibrant colors at their brightest. The weather is cool, the air is dry and the trees are bursting with oranges and yellows just before they release their leaves. With nature in mind, here are our four favorite fall wedding must-haves to prepare for your perfect day.

Scenic location

It cannot be said enough, location, location, location. Where you choose to have your ceremony and reception often plays a large role in your overall budget. Whether you want to have your wedding ceremony on a rustic farm, in the middle of the forest or at a traditional outdoor venue, consider nature and the surrounding areas. Setting up a few long benches or a sea of chairs in the middle of your scenic backdrop will offer your guest a comfortable seat as they experience your ceremony in the robustness of the changing seasons.

Warm color palette

Color is key when playing off of fall tones for your wedding day. Mix it up and give your wedding party the opportunity to pair a palette of autumn tones in their décor. Allow your bridesmaids to select their own style of gown in an assigned color. Ask the groomsmen to choose a tie or socks that match, as these can be great ways to incorporate subtle fall hues. For extra additions of color, add decorative ribbons to the back of each chair and hints of leaves in the centerpieces at the reception. Small pops of colors can be simple ways to add an extra touch of warmth throughout the ceremony and reception.

Spiced spirits

Fall festivities are known for flavorful concoctions. Adding a signature drink to your cocktail hour that gives another nod to this beloved season is always a crowd-pleaser.  Ask your beverage provider to help get the party started by offering guests a pumpkin spice martini, hard apple cider or maple bourbon old-fashioned. From specialty drinking glasses, to customized handcrafted drink menu signs, you can customize your autumn event and offer your guests an experience to remember.

Fall favors

No party is over until guests leave with a treat or two in hand! Having a favor table prepared with a quick “thank you” for guests to take home is a wonderful way to show your appreciation of their attendance during your big day. Flavorful fall favors like canned spiced preserves or customized chocolates are easy to grab and nibble on for the car ride home.
